What?
The Offcuts Drawer is a podcast where successful writers share the contents of their bottom drawer – the bits of writing they never finished, had rejected or still keep hold of for nostalgic reasons. Then I choose the best bits, take them away and get actors to perform them. And finally the writer and I listen back to them and they share the stories behind them. Why didn’t they work? What were they trying to achieve? What did the piece actually lead to?
The podcast was awarded Honoree in the international Webby Awards 2021 for the BEST ARTS & CULTURE PODCAST (Oprah’s Super Soul podcast won) and was invited to feature in the British Museum’s Sound Archive as part of the nation’s audio and cultural heritage.
